Why Naturopathic Medicine
I grew up immersed in medicine, as I come from a lineage of Osteopathic Physicians and was fortunate enough to witness the miracles of this form of care. Though I was always fascinated by medicine, I was also the artsy child in my family—drawn to singing, dancing, and painting. Looking back, I realize that my love of the arts was perhaps my own way of understanding the body and its beautiful intricacies. Throughout my studies, I’ve come to understand that medicine is not only a science, but an art—one that requires curiosity, intuition, and a deep understanding of the individual in order to truly heal.
It wasn’t until I worked as a Nursing Assistant that I began to question whether there were other ways to help people. In my second year of Nursing, I switched my major to Integrative Health, discovered Naturopathic Medicine, and felt as though I was coming home. My first experience with an ND came during a flare of persistent adult-onset acne. Rather than simply treating my symptoms, she looked deeper, helping me understand the connection between my gut, detoxification pathways, and skin. Through naturopathic care, I was able to heal from the inside out and ultimately make a full recovery. More than healing my skin, this journey transformed the way I understood medicine and showed me the power of truly individualized, holistic care. After this experience, I knew I had found the path I was meant to follow.
Treatment Philosophy
I approach treatment looking to gain a comprehensive understanding of the person sitting across from me. We are so much more than our symptoms, and I believe that in order to address the root cause of a concern, the whole-person must be understood. There are many ways to treat a variety of conditions, but something that works for one person may not work for another. Thus, my philosophy is centered around individualized care.
Utilizing lifestyle changes, nutrition, botanical medicine, and homeopathy, my aim is to address the root-cause of a concern, empower patients to feel confident and healthy in their bodies, and focus on healing from the inside out. I believe in meeting patients where they’re at, and working together to create not only a treatment plan, but a strong foundation for lifelong health and healing.
