Why Naturopathic Medicine
My journey into naturopathic medicine began in my early 20s when I struggled with persistent fatigue. Despite seeing several conventional doctors, my concerns were dismissed as a result of being “too busy.” It wasn’t until I visited a naturopathic doctor that I found answers—through functional testing, we discovered I had high reverse T3. With just a few simple supplements, my energy returned. This experience opened my eyes to the power of holistic care. While working in hospital administration, I saw far too many preventable hospitalizations and heard from patients who felt unheard after only a few minutes with their doctor. I knew I wanted to offer something different—care where patients feel truly listened to and treated as whole people. My passion for mental health grew from my background in psychology, which I studied at Wesleyan with a focus on neuropsychology, and from my grandmother’s dedication to mental health advocacy in Ohio. Following in her footsteps, I chose to specialize in mental health because it affects nearly everyone at some point and is highly responsive to lifestyle interventions. It’s incredibly fulfilling to help people find relief without relying solely on medication, allowing them to live fuller, more impactful lives.
Treatment Philosophy
My treatment philosophy centers on creating a safe and supportive environment where patients feel truly heard. I focus on identifying and addressing the root causes of health concerns rather than merely managing symptoms. I believe that changes in diet and lifestyle can lead to profound improvements in well-being, and I recognize that each patient knows their own body and experiences better than I ever will, making us partners on the journey to wellness. There are many effective ways to treat anxiety and depression, and I respect the choice to use pharmaceuticals if desired, but I also fully support those who prefer not to. I believe that with the right care, everyone can experience some level of improvement. I am deeply committed to helping people enhance their mental wellness, allowing them to lead more fulfilling lives and make a positive impact in the world.
